One thing that Follow Me! Healthy Parents, Healthy Kids will guarantee is that all of our events will reflect our mission - to educate parents about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. You will find sponsors who support our cause and back our initiative. We strive to provide the best resources and information for our parents in a fun interactive family environment.
Our Follow Me! Family Event Mission
The Follow Me! Family Events will engage families in a fun interactive non-threatening environment that has an educational base on health, wellness, fitness and nutrition. We will introduce families and kids to new fun methods of exercises, healthy foods and recipes and information that will help get their families on the path to healthy living.
How We Achieve These Goals
- Partnering with major family attractions for event locations
- Providing interactive fun activities that can be easily integrated into family life
- Establishing a tight connection with dynamic fitness leaders in the community
- Creating a full major partnership with large media outlets
- Partnering with former & current college/professional athletes
- Presenting fitness & nutrition solutions that fit with family lifestyles
- Distributing resourceful educational materials for the entire family to use
- Monitoring results & needs through on-site and online surveys with parents
Follow Me! is currently seeking funding for our Educational Family Events and currently has over 7 major events planned for 2011
What We Have Accomplished
In 2010, Follow Me! effectively reached over 25,000 families with our messaging through events, social media, speaking engagements and marketing.
Our Follow Me! FitFest at COSI brough in record breaking numbers which was almost 3x more than projected.
Our fitness professional advocates who offer free 30 minute activities at our events and outreach program have reported an increase in class sizes and participation from parents & kids who have attended our events.
Follow Me! distributed over 50,000 educational pieces to families in 2010
Established dynamic partnerships with Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew, Nationwide Children's Hospital, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Columbus Parks & Recreation, YMCA, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association. No Excuses Radio and Commit to be Fit/10tv.
Officially named a supporting program of the Presidential Challenge
Partnering With Those Who Align With Us
Follow Me! has partnered with other non-profit organizations including Nationwide Children's Hospital, American Heart Association, The YMCA and the American Diabetes Association. Through our partnership Follow Me! works to spread the aligning messages, resources and information in our education and outreach programs; including our family events.
